A New York native, Dr. Portman stayed in the city to fulfill her education requirements. She attended Pace University and graduated valedictorian of her class before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. She then spent another year completing a general practice residency at Staten Island University Hospital.

Before opening iSmile Dental, Dr. Portman gained invaluable experience as an associate dentist for several dental practices in New York City. She is well-versed in implant prosthetics and attachments, surgical extractions, periodontics, rotary endodontics, and orthodontics. She is also an accomplished periodontal surgeon. Dr. Portman is dedicated to staying up-to-date with advancements in both family and cosmetic dentistry practices and continues her education regularly to perfect her techniques.

Dr. Portman gives back and shares her expertise through outreach programs, providing underprivileged children and adults with free dental care in the Dominican Republic.
