Dental Implants

With a dental implant, which replaces both the root and the crown of your tooth, you can replace one or more of your teeth and restore your natural chewing abilities. With the help of Daniel Royzman, DDS, and the expert dentists at iSmile Dental, you can undergo a modern, natural-looking dental implant procedure at one of the two practice locations in Brooklyn, New York. Find out more by calling the Williamsburg or Park Slope office, or request an appointment online today.

A dental implant is beneficial to restore the normal functioning of your teeth. Your dentist may recommend a dental implant if you need to have a tooth extracted or if you had a tooth pulled months or even years ago.

A dental implant is important because if you allow the gap from a missing tooth to remain, your bone and gum tissue will deteriorate over time. This can cause your teeth to move and shift out of place, impacting your biting, chewing, and even speaking abilities.

What can I expect from a dental implant service?
Your dental implant procedure from iSmile Dental begins with oral surgery to place a titanium rod — the implant — into your jawbone through a small incision. Over the following months, bone bonds to the implant, which creates a strong foundation for an artificial tooth known as a dental crown.

Once your implant heals, your dentist has you come in for a follow-up visit to attach a support post (abutment) onto the implant. Your dentist can make a temporary crown to cover the abutment on the spot.

They also take digital scans of your tooth using advanced iTero® technology and forward your images to the dental lab for crown fabrication. The final step involves bonding your permanent crown to the abutment once it arrives in the office (it takes about two or three weeks to fabricate).

The team at iSmile Dental combines over 25 years of experience specializing in dental implants, so you can feel confident that you’re in capable hands.
